Hi,
I am experiencing something similar trying to get KDE to use NAS
to a linux based x-terminal.
When playing audio files (for example oggs using xmms + arts)
there is a very noticeable distortion and noise in the high
frequencies. I have tried adjusting the buffering settings in both KDE
and nas with little effect.
