Package: redis-server Version: 2:2.8.17-1 amd64 When installing redis-server, the configured directory (/var/run/redis/) for the PID file is not created, which leads to the PID file not being written to disk.
I suggest that the installation script creates the directory with the matching permissions before starting the server.
