I made an experiment that someone else did in Archlinux, stoped gdm3 and started the x server alone calling "xinit". The server starts and shows a terminal. I can even call "nautilus" and it works.
The first time I made the experiment it didn't work, it showed the terminal but I couldn't do anything, the virtual machine hanged when tried to move the mouse or write something, I was running qemu with this arguments: "-hda juana.img -m 256M -vga cirrus -net nic -net user -alt-grab -usb". When the test worked I was using this argumets: "-hda juana.img -m 256M -vga cirrus -net nic -net user -usbdevice mouse -usbdevice keyboard -alt-grab" Saludos!
