I'm glad you liked my advise. :)

DH_VERBOSE=1 shows all dh_ command that debhelper autamatically runs during 
package build. IMHO it is common sense to learn about commands like 
dh_clean(1) and the files under "debian/" directory that those commands 
recognise...

If you have time to do so it would be nice if you could send a patch upstream 
so they could improve their dist(clean) target...
