I guess it would be preferable to clearly state that backward-incompatibility in the packages metatadata, so I just staged the following fix that should do the trick: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-mozext/cookie-monster.git/commit/?id=a8e5242a3402775b22d4632cac775e3ec5ea2239 (The BTS seems done right now, so I cant check if there has been a discussion between the opening and the closing of the report, but assume well check the bug report before the next upload anyway.)
