Seems so. Linphone and others depend upon it. Aside from dependancies I'd be happy to remove pulseaudio. > You might run pavucontrol to check it. Installed that and investigated briefly. Appears that complexity of the multiple interacting softwares makes troubleshooting difficult. Consequently sound doesn't work in spite of alsa being OK. The only realistic strategy in the long term is to reconsider the sound system in general. Simplify and consolidate the design. Otherwise obscure bugs will consume years of human time and sound will remain a fragile patchwork. Best Regards, ...
