Hello all, The new sysvinit-utils versioned dependencies on util-linux introduces a circular dependency sysvinit-utils → util-linux → initscripts → sysvinit-utils. This breaks debootstrap at least for Ubuntu (see https://launchpad.net/bugs/1456670). I tested debootstrapping sid, and that does seem to work. But I have a gut feeling that this is some time bomb and may cause debootstrap woes at some point.
So I replaced the versioned depends with a versioned Breaks:. util-linux is Priority: required anyway. http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/sysvinit.git/commit/?id=2e4267ce40f2 As it doesn't seem to be an imminent problem for sid, uploading that right now doesn't seem urgent. However, I'd like to do a followup NMU for a fix for bug 777113, I'll respond there with details. While I was at it, I also dropped an obsolete patch: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/sysvinit.git/commit/?id=8784eabc (I ported this to util-linux on the Ubuntu side, I'll work with Andreas and upstream to get it into util-linux) Thanks, Martin -- Martin Pitt | http://www.piware.de Ubuntu Developer (www.ubuntu.com) | Debian Developer (www.debian.org)
