Hi, In short, I tested my previously reported patch. It works.
Long story: I made a local package with these 2 patches mentioned. Now ncurses package functions OK. I also made a mock package which installs a large foo.xhtml into /u/s/doc/<package> and verified now xhtml is not compressed. (Since this xhtml was issue for libapt-pkg-doc, I tried current jessie apt package first. Even after removing -X.xhtml, it was not good for testing this new xhtml skipping feature since it generated .html files only. That is why I used a simpler mock package for testing this.)
