Please try running the milter without --external in /etc/default/clamav-milter. This is a known problem, and is being worked on. If running without external fixes it for you, would you let me know? Also, it appears that the bug you sent this as a follow up to is a seperate issue, the bug related to this is 294666. I have set my reply to that address.
