Package: file Version: 1:5.22+15-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
A colleague was surprised to find a C++ source file misdetected as "Embedded OpenType (EOT)". Surprisingly, the magic definition for that type relies on just 2 ASCII bytes: # EOT 34 string LP Embedded OpenType (EOT) And indeed the file in question #includes, at just the right position, a header whose name contains the substring "LP". A search of our source tree finds several more near misses. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages file depends on: ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libmagic1 1:5.22+15-2 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 file recommends no packages. file suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
