Hi,
The installed size for joe is just 1310, for screen it's 992, and vim is
2233, so I don't think that's bothering anyone. Quite the opposite way,
I think it's adding convenience, as the thing which anyone may need to
do is editing files. I'm just reluctant to install something like emacs
which is really too big.
The full list of extra packages is (as I'm adding nano):
EXTRA_PACKAGES=bash-completion,joe,most,screen,less,vim,bzip2,nano
I don't that's much, and it's IMO a fair compromise. I hope to get the
addition of nano approved by the release team, as I agree we shouldn't
confuse anyone if possible.
BTW, if you do not wish to have these (I don't see how it's a problem
but hey, your choice!), then you can as well create your own image using
openstack-debian-images and use the --minimal option.
Cheers,
Thomas Goirand (zigo)
