I noticed that your package uses dh_gencontrol but not dh_builddeb. This configuration may soon start to FTBFS if we introduce ddebs[1]. The issue happens because dh_gencontrol will now prepare the control file for the ddeb (which makes dpkg list it as a known artefact) and then leave it to dh_builddeb to actually build it. But since the package is not using dh_builddeb, dpkg will instead abort with an error because it is missing an artefact.
