since this bug is known since 3 jears and still appears in stable jessie I now found a workaround to suppress all users to be shown: Just uncomment the line disable-user-list=true in /usr/share/gdm/dconf/90-debian-settings After that only the username and password can be entered, but no sensible userlist is shown. BTW: #688741 is a duplicate of this bug and has been forwarded to upstream in 2012, too.
