Source: network-manager
Version: 0.9.10.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer

>From Ubuntu bug LP: #1446689 [1]:
Since network-manager currently uses /usr/sbin/pppoe intead of kernel
PPoE, the network-manager binary package should at least Recommends:
pppoe.

Installing the pppoe package solves LP: #1446689 for at least one user.

However, for some reason, my Kyocera iBurst USB modem does not work at
all with /usr/sbin/pppoe, but works just fine with the kernel PPPoE.
Unfortunately I do not have another PPPoE device with which to test.

Upstream are in the process of reverting this change and going back to
kernel PPPoE, see upstream bug #742939 [2]. I will attach a
backported patch for network-manager 0.9.10.0-7 which allows my modem
to connect and does not need a Recommends on pppoe.

Regards
Graham
