As long as the dependency graph does not change, things generally work. However, if Jessie+1 uses a different theme and adwaita-icon-theme is deprecated, then it starts to get messy. > Do you have an references (like actual bug reports) where apt did remove > a package because of such a dep cycle? Yes, this was rather frequent before circular dependencies were culled down. The worse is probably #310490 Anyway, this bug is trivial to fix, there is not much point arguing severity.
