Your bug report is incomplete -- when you report bugs please follow instructions in [1] and use `reportbug` to provide information about your system and versions of dependent packages. Do you have package "network-manager" installed? What is the version of "ifupdown" on your system? May be you could track down which package caused regression by analysing "/var/log/apt/history.log"?
