Package: initramfs-tools Version: 0.119 Severity: wishlist I have an encrypted USB drive that is not always attached to my system. With the default cryptsetup configuration, when the system boots, it asks me for the passphrase and everything is fine. If the device is not connected, then booting takes a long time because a 1min30second timeout is triggered waiting for the disk to show up.
If I set 'noauto' in crypttab, then I wont be asked for the disk passphrase on boot, even if the device is there, but then the system wont block waiting for the device if it is not there. I would like it if I were prompted for passphrase for this disk, if it is there, otherwise don't spend 1min30seconds blocking boot for it. I understand some people might want the long timeout, but it is pretty frustrating when you do not want it.
