I got the log file in private mail and found the problem. When piuparts runs "apt-get -yf install" to drag in any dependencies, if a dependency doesn't exist, the package we're testing gets removed. The rest of piuparts testing progresses smoothly. The workaround is to add "--no-remove" to the apt-get invocation (piuparts.py, around line 415 in method install_package_files). I'll make a new piuparts release within a few days, I hope. If the problem is urgent, add the option manually to your copy. Or, if you prefer, get the current development version from my public bzr branch at http://liw.iki.fi/liw/bzr or the tarball from the same page.
