As you can see in the Debian page of afflib-tools package here: https://packages.debian.org/en/sid/afflib-tools the package descriptions shows a lot of "dots" between what are supposed to be the items in list. Please note that, as for Debian Policy [1] the "dot" works to divide paragraphs (it creates an empty line) only if it is preceded by a single space and there is no other character after it. In your case some dots have the right effect, but most of them are preceded by more than one space and they are shown verbatim in the description. Moreover these dots are unnecessary since they are inside a "verbatim" section, that is, one with lines starting with two spaces. I suggest that you change the format of the package description removing all the lines with a dot inside the lists. At the end of this message I attach a patch that I created with the Debian online editing Firefox extension [2]; please let me know if you have problem with it and if I need to submit another kind of patch.
