Dear Maintainer,
I was trying to view a font file in order to make my mind whether I
should install it or not. When seeing the font file via
mate-font-viewer I saw rectangular boxes instead of the images as
shared below.

I also saw the same in gnome-font-viewer and there it rendered without
an issue.

As this only seems to be problematic with Android Emoji font [1] I reduce severity to minor here. [1] https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-control-center/issues/143#issuecomment-74064392
