http://codesearch.debian.net/results/getAlternateName/page_0 suggests that
this version of events is accurate: we're not trying to prevent partial
upgrades of the form

    new evince, old libpoppler-glib8, old libpoppler46

because evince doesn't call getAlternateName anyway. Rather, we're
trying to prevent partial upgrades of the form

    new libpoppler-glib8, old libpoppler46

for which Neil's test results look fine.
