Package: virtualbox Version: 4.3.18-dfsg-2 Severity: normal Hi,
I wanted to have a look at debian-live, so downloaded the file debian-live-7.8.0-amd64-lxde-desktop.iso from cdimage.debian.org. Then I configured a virtual machine in virtualbox, with default settings for "debian (64-bit)" except that I did not add a hard disk. When trying to boot the system, it would go past grub, then give me a wite screen with a single line saying "Loading, please wait", and then the window would disappear. When I ran "VBoxSDL --startvm <name of VM>", I saw that there was a segmentation fault. However, I did not seem to be able to produce a core dump, so I don't know why the segfault occurred. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=nl_BE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nl_BE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages virtualbox depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii dpkg 1.17.23 ii libc6 2.19-15 ii libcurl3 7.38.0-4 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.2-10 ii libgsoap5 2.8.17-1 ii libpng12-0 1.2.50-2+b2 ii libpython2.7 2.7.9-1 ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.15-10+b1 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1k-1 ii libstdc++6 4.9.2-10 ii libvncserver0 0.9.9+dfsg-6.1 ii libvpx1 1.3.0-3 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-3 ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.14-1+b1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.3-1 ii libxml2 2.9.2+dfsg1-3 ii libxmu6 2:1.1.2-1 ii libxt6 1:1.1.4-1+b1 ii python 2.7.8-3 ii python2.7 2.7.9-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 Versions of packages virtualbox recommends: ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libgl1] 10.4.2-2 ii libqt4-opengl 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.6+git64-g5dc8b2b+dfsg-2+b1 ii virtualbox-dkms 4.3.18-dfsg-2 ii virtualbox-qt 4.3.18-dfsg-2 ii virtualbox-source 4.3.18-dfsg-2 Versions of packages virtualbox suggests: pn vde2 <none> ii virtualbox-guest-additions-iso 4.3.18-1 -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/virtualbox changed: LOAD_VBOXDRV_MODULE=1 SHUTDOWN_USERS="all" SHUTDOWN=savestate -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
