Hi Thomas, Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't fully aware of this distinction about nginx development branches. Maybe I should reword my concern. I'm finding nginx features only available in 1.7 branch but I don't see any package in Debian yet. Since I don't want to install it directly from upstream and I maintain some Ubuntu servers, I'll take a look at your PPA.
