Package: xinetd Version: 2.3.13-2 Hello,
I have no services configured for xinetd, and would like to turn it off due to spare ressources. One solution could be moving the '-stayalive' xinetd options from the /etc/init.d/xinetd init script to /etc/default/xinetd, with this kind of comment: -- /etc/default/xinetd -- # Default settings for xinetd. This file is sourced by /bin/sh from # /etc/init.d/xinetd # Options to pass to xinetd # # Note: '-stayalive' is needed to keep xinetd running even if it # has no service configured. This is highly recommended, since # some packages which install network services via (x)inetd will # expect it up and running in any circumstances.
