Package: latrace Version: 0.5.11-1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
It looks like the ReleaseNotes file in the upstream source provides user-oriented summaries of changes on a release-by-release basis, organized by topic, which is AIUI exactly what a NEWS file is supposed to do. So, it would probably be a good idea to install that file as /usr/share/doc/latrace/NEWS (before the dh_compress(1) step, which would presumably compress that to NEWS.gz). [Of course, I guess this'd be more relevant in the presence of, you know, ongoing changes...] Don't even bother installing the README: it doesn't even have the current address of the website, nevermind anything about how to actually use the program. p.s. Today I learned that dh_installchangelog(1) doesn't support installing upstream NEWS files, regardless of their filenames. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.8 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages latrace depends on: ii libc6 2.13-38+deb7u7 latrace recommends no packages. latrace suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
