Why shouldn't the client be able to add songs to the current playlist, or clear it and build a new playlist? And, given that this bug is almost ten years old and has failed to attract any visible reaction up to now, do you think it's still useful to keep it open, do you want to take your request upstream, or should we conclude that mpd won't change in this regard and just put it to rest?
