Hi, Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to fix this bug in Jessie, because it is not of a serious enough nature. At this point in the Jessie release, only "targeted fixes for release critical bugs (i.e., bugs of severity critical, grave, and serious)" are allowed. I will check with my sponsor to verify.
Having said that, I will be able to get a fix out for unstable, which it appears you are running. If you need to install steam before the fixed version for Debian is released, you can install winetricks from upstream.
