I think it would make more sense in the plugin-disabling code was in ftdetect/rcshell.vim rather than in syntax/rcshell.vim.
In fact, it's completely wrong to have this disabling code in the syntax file. When I open two rc shell scripts, only the first one gets correctly highlighted. :-(
