For the committee's information, this is now in place in unstable and will hopefully be in testing soon (unblock request: #774939). Indeed, it seemed most appropriate to provide boot entries for any installed alternative init daemon, so this will also for example be usable for users considering a migration to systemd but wanting a convenient way to test it out first.
