Thanks for the bug report. My personal priority with this package was getting it to the point where it could be used to create and maintain fdroid binary repos with only what is included in Debian.
My guess is that the build stuff is still too much of a moving target to really support it in Debian/jessie. The recommended way to run builds is using fdroidserver from git. But I'll happily review simple patches to make things work better on jessie. .hc
