Ok, I'm totally on board with Ubuntu needing to fix their layout. I posted in their mailing lists about it to make sure they are aware of the problem as it relates to live-build. Forgot to post the link here, so here it is:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-mirrors/2015-January/000351.html I did also post it to their archive mailing list, but it's not appeared there (yet). I was considering building a patch on top of my bug #718225 solution (which I'll be posting within the hour btw), but it'd be somewhat large, and Ubuntu building is already broken as it is (#774396 & #774391). With my solution in place, Ubuntu building will definitely be impossible until either Ubuntu changes their layout, or we build a patch.
