Hmm, rereading that thread now (and talking to Paul about it a bit more -- thanks for not being on hard VAC Paul ♥), I see that the reasons for rejecting it upstream aren't as applicable here in Debian, because we only really care about compatibility with the archive and use with the archive. If someone compiles their own kernel, then they get to keep the pieces, generally. I'm working on a patch now to turn the existing warning ("WARNING: You are running linux kernel version %s, which might be unstable running docker. Please upgrade your kernel to 3.8.0.") into a fatal error instead. :) As a side note, I'll keep the existing upstream undocumented DOCKER_NOWARN_KERNEL_VERSION environment variable available for bypassing the hard failure (which is used for RHEL's kernels which backport all the 3.8+ features Docker needs down to 2.6, insanely enough). ♥, - Tianon 4096R / B42F 6819 007F 00F8 8E36 4FD4 036A 9C25 BF35 7DD4 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
