Well, I tend to disagree a bit. I am expecting to see more repositories follow on Fedora's lead and use xz to compress their repository files. Probably true. OTOH, it's a trivial fix and it would be great to have it in Jessie before the release happens. As I said before, my motivation were change roots which are spawned using systemd-nspawn. The manpage of systemd-nspawn provides even instructions how to create a Fedora change root using yum. So, fixing this issue would mean people could use systemd-nspawn with less hassle.
