Package: gajim
Version: 0.16-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

XEP-0147 defines xmpp urls and gajim-remote handle_uri command can handle such
urls.
However when clicking xmpp urls in web browsers (for example in Iceweasel) they
can not handle those.

I added following file gajim-remote.desktop to directory
~/.local/share/applications/
        [Desktop Entry]
        Version=1.0
        Type=Application
        Exec=/usr/bin/gajim-remote handle_uri %u
        Icon=gajim
        StartupNotify=true
        Terminal=false
        Categories=Network;InstantMessaging;GTK;GNOME;
        MimeType=x-scheme-handler/xmpp
        Name=Gajim-remote handler_uri
        Comment=Handle XMPP URL

And ran the commands:
        update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications/
        xdg-mime default gajim-remote.desktop x-schema-handler/xmpp

Then web browsers can open xmpp urls using gajim-remote. I think that this
could be possible to do system wide also.

I wish that gajim debian package automatically setups gajim-remote to
handle xmpp urls, so that I (and possibly other users) do not need to do
that manually.
