This problem occurs quite often.

In /var/log/syslog, I get errors like:

Dec 23 20:11:36 xvii kernel: [992178.827263] wlan0: deauthenticated from 
00:1f:33:89:73:4e (Reason: 7=CLASS3_FRAME_FROM_NONASSOC_STA)

wicd should restart the wifi connection, but doesn't.

It could be related to:

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=582567

but I don't really understand the error.
