Package: cdebootstrap Version: 0.3.9 Severity: important [I'm not sure if this is a cdebootstrap, bash or debianutils issue; feel free to reassign if this should be fixed elsewhere]
I can't get sid bootstrapped anymore through pbuilder or through sudo rm -rf /tmp/flub ; sudo cdebootstrap --verbose sid /tmp/flub due to bash's postinst aborting with an error due to /usr/sbin/add-shell aborting with an error when no /etc/shells is present: O: Setting up bash (3.1-1) ... P: Configuring package bash O: cat: O: /etc/shells O: : No such file or directory O: O: Either another instance of /usr/sbin/add-shell is running, or it was previous ly interrupted. O: Please examine /etc/shells.tmp to see if it should be moved onto /etc/shells. O: dpkg: error processing bash (--configure): O: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 [...] O: Errors were encountered while processing: O: bash E: Couldn't install root! A fix/workaround would be for cdebootstrap to supply an empty /etc/shells in the target prior to configuring bash. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (800, 'unstable'), (750, 'experimental'), (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12.6 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO8859-1 (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages cdebootstrap depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-8.1 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdebian-installer-extra4 0.36 Library of some extra debian-insta ii libdebian-installer4 0.36 Library of common debian-installer ii wget 1.10.2-1 retrieves files from the web cdebootstrap recommends no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- Obsig: developing a new sig -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
