Starting Thursday night clamd died each night.
You mean it crashed?
Please provide excerpts of /var/log/clamav/clamav.log and
/var/log/syslog from around the time of the crashes.
If you can reproduce the crashes, please install clamav-dbg and use gdb
to provide a backtrace of the crashes.
After removing the clamav-unofficial-sigs cron job, last night clamd
got stuck using all cpu. (800% on the 8-node box.)
Again, please provide the logs mentioned above.
Either way that blocks all incoming mail.
It is possible that this morning's bug was triggered by the logrotate
cron job, given /etc/logrotate.d/clamav-daemon

Please set 'Debug true' in /etc/clamav/clamd.conf, restart clamav-daemon
and provide debug logs, when the issue happens again.
Best regards,
Andreas
