Thanks, Jackson. The correct forum to discuss this is in a Debian bug report. The existing report for Debian bug#738837 deals with this request. Please subscribe to that bug report if you want to receive updates. As noted in Debian bug#738837, the API changed incompatibly in ‘lockfile’ 0.9. Simply upgrading is not an option, because many Debian packages depend on ‘python-lockfile’ and would break if its API changed.
