Still does not work with 1.0.24-5 The problem is Intel USB3 chips. On older machines that are USB2 only there is no problem. AMD machines with USB3 do not have this problem.
In the bios under USB settings disable Intel xHCI Mode. Now the scanner works but you lose USB3 and all ports are now USB2. Just plugging into a USB2 port is not enough, the setting has to be disabled. Using a hub does not help. Older solutions like permissions are not the issue.
