Why me? I cannot reproduce it at all (with 4.9), so I won't even begin
with it. I suggest you
- install version 4.9 from Sid
- try other bold fonts (maybe even Xft fonts)
- recompile with debugging and get a backtrace or at least coredump
or...
- retry the same with the pure upstream version without my patches
(read: "fakeroot debian/rules patch" or ... unpatch)
