thanks
I tried to reproduce #271891 and failed (to reproduce it).
Form my smb.conf:
[global]
security = user
guest account = spongebob
map to guest = Bad User
[public]
directory mask=0700
browseable=yes
comment=Public
create mask=0770
public=yes
writeable=yes
path=/tmp
Test:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp> smbclient \\\\mykerinos\\public -U bar
Password:
Domain=[CC-MYKERINOS] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.20b-Debian]
smb: \> put foo
putting file foo as \foo (6.8 kb/s) (average 6.8 kb/s)
smb: \>exit
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/tmp> ls -l /tmp/foo
-rwxrw---- 1 spongebob spongebob 7 2005-12-08 18:45 /tmp/foo
(bar is a non existing user)
So, as far as I see, "map to guest" *is* honored.....
This may have been a transient error, or a user error at the moment it
happened.
Alexey, can you confirm you don't experience this bug anymore? In any
cases, without news in the next 4 weeks, we will close this bug
report.
I'll do my best to reproduce it soon. The original setup is not available,
so I'll need to try and recreate it.
Alexey
