At the momemt it works to use the authors supplied
deb-package from http://ankisrs.net/. At least 2.0.31 runs
fine on jessie and syncs again nicely. Probably, you'll have
to make sure to meet the dependencies, which currently is no
issue. However, I needed to install mplayer.

Of course, this is no solution, especially none for a decent
distribution like debian. It's just a hack and may help to
bridge the freeze-period.

BTW: I think (just a feeling, didn't check) they actually
needed this bloody edge upgrade as there were some severe
sync-issues introduced with a former version of Anki or at
least AnkiDroid. I noticed that AnkiDroid always forced a
full sync against Anki web only solved with the most recent
(as time of this writing) AnkiDroid version. It didn't
bother me that much as I use sync mainly as backup, but if
you really sync between devices this would surely have
broken things. I'm not sure if a desktop version was
affected by that.
