About fixing it for Jessie, I don't think that we can get an unblock on this issue given Jessie Freeze Policy guidelines <https://release.debian.org/jessie/freeze_policy.html#guidelines-changes>: - this bug severity level looks like normal to me, rather than important; - even if its severity level was important, the fix could not be done via unstable, because unstable already has 11.88-1; - fixes done via testing-proposed-updates need to be targeted for release critical bugs. If you think that the freeze policy allows an upload fixing this issue, please let me know: I've already prepared it, and the debdiff is attached. Otherwise, at any rate I will backport 11.88-1 to Jessie when its backports will be available, and I hope AUCTeX users will use it, since 11.88 has so many improvements over 11.87.
