Hi I ran a few tests and if you install newest Ninja from git (1.5.1 + some bits) it will happily compile Debian's Chromium package. Thus it is almost certain that 1.5.1 release does so as well. As Chromium is NInja's biggest user by far, it is very unlikely that any other package will break either.
I'm going to propose an NMU for this in mentors soon and already have a prospective sponsor for review. Thanks,
