I haven't been able to reproduce #271029 on an up-to-date sarge server running winbind. Any attempt to add a system group with "addgroup --system foo" has been successful and never locked up winbind (thanks for my users....:-). I suspect some transitory bug in samba 3.0.5 which is probably away for a long time.
