Your package FTBFS when built with dpkg-buildpackage -jN (where N is the number of parallel jobs requested). I think the problem comes from the fact that dpkg-buildpackage sets MAKEFLAGS=-jN, and then debian/rules crashes because it is not designed to run in parallel. If my analysis is correct, the fix is to add ".NOTPARALLEL:" at the end of debian/rules. Cheers, -- .''`.
