Did you try setting zero instead of 0 (that is, putting the word 'zero', not the number)? That is what i saw elsewhere as a workaround for this. Also try setting it to 'off' and 'ignore'. Note that these are workarounds, so hopefully this can be fixed in the kernel. Dear kernel maintainers, I'm forwarding this bug to you: Jean reports that when the Mic Boost control is set to a value > 0, it introduces distortions. Jean, please run the alsa-info.sh script as documented here[1]. The kernel maintainers will probably need this.
