when applying the dark theme from the Tweak Tool it has no effect on the gnome- terminal. By a certain amount of luck I determined the this is due to the setting org.gnome.Terminal.Legacy.Settings dark-theme which is false by default. So it appears that the terminal has an indipendent setting for the dark theme. So, either the Tweak Tool is made to change both settings or the redundant one should be removed.
