These are questions for upstream, but I believe the answer to the final 
question is "yes; as soon as someone steps up to do the work".  I have seen 
this same question come up on the GCC XML mailing list for probably half a 
dozen years.  I would not hold my breath.

Question for you: what are you building that needs gccxml?  I have always 
believed that it was mainly needed for ITK.  ITK currently doesn't target the 
architectures you mentioned, so omission of gccxml won't be a problem.
