Yeah, the proposal makes sense and I think it's feasible after looking at gnome2.cc , but I won't be able to do this overnight (the code is not complicated but not sure I can follow the workflow good enough to not produce additional bugs). Maybe Marko can have a look? Regarding the code size, it can only become better. $ pkg-config gio-2.0 --libs -lgio-2.0 -lgobject-2.0 -lglib-2.0 $ ldd /usr/bin/icewm-menu-gnome2 | wc -l 82 Those 82 contain the three libs and lots of other cruft pulled in by gnome dependencies.
